ODINA - A SENSE OF BELONGING

This documentary follows Odina - a Spanish musician I befriended on a creative journey, navigating her music career between the UK and Spain. I wanted to explore the similarities between our experiences of adapting to London as foreigners. We talk about accents, language barriers, finding a voice and embracing our roots.

In some respects, it is a personal story, as Odina faced and overcame many of the same challenges that many other europeans, myself included, face when trying to fit in to life in the UK. We often struggle to find our voice while navigating between the two (or more) cultures that we belong to - overcoming the language barriers, embracing our funny accents and roots, dealing with mispronounced names, cultural differences and other foreign quirks on the journey of acceptance and fitting in in the creative hub of London.
